In practice, this can be different: a cunning task with traffic

Each driver must give way to other road users. That is why it is so important to know all the requirements for movement that regulate the priority of the road.

Do you remember the relevant rules of the rules? Check yourself using the test that has published the YouTube channel “According to the rules!”. In it, you need to answer the question of who the driver of the White car should give up.

In the image with the conditions of the problem, we see a white car that came to the intersection and signals the intention to turn left. At this time, a tram and a blue car and a cyclist on the right are approaching the left side of the road. Everyone intends to continue moving directly. Who in this situation should give in to the driver of the white car:

  1. tram and blue car;
  2. cyclist;
  3. only tram;
  4. tram and cyclist;
  5. should not concede to anyone;
  6. This should give the way to everyone.

As always, we determine the type of intersection in the first step. It does not have a traffic light, as well as priority signs. This means that we are dealing with an unregulated intersection of equivalent roads.

Even a beginner knows that at such intersections, drivers are obliged to travel, guided by paragraph 16.12 of the current traffic rules. It is also called the “rule of obstacles to the right” or “rule of the right hand.” It states that at the intersection of equivalent roads, the driver of the unsteady vehicle is obliged to give expensive vehicles that are approaching the right, with the exception of the intersection where the circular traffic is organized.

But at this moment it is stated that at such intersections the driver of the tram has an advantage over non -main vehicles, regardless of the direction of its further traffic. And therefore, the tram here has a clear advantage and you need to go forward, and then go to the rule of obstacles to the right.

But in this situation, you should also pay special attention to the cyclist. He is also a full -fledged participant in traffic and is not obliged to give expensive cars only because these are cars, and he is a cyclist. Thus, at the intersection of this intersection, he is guided by the rule of the obstacle to the right on equal terms of the rest of the drivers.

And, according to this rule, the driver of the White car has an advantage over the driver of the blue, because this is an obstacle to him on the right. In the same way, such an obstacle is a cyclist. The driver of the white car must give way.

And, despite the fact that the driver of the blue car must give way to white, he moves in parallel with the tram, that in this situation it has an absolute advantage. Therefore, in real life, the blue car will probably cross the tram.

Nevertheless, the test only takes into account the requirements of DA, and, in their opinion, the driver of the White car should only give way to the tram and the cyclist. The fourth answer is correct.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA published a task with traffic regulation, where it was necessary to determine which drives violate the rules.
