The themes of the connected and automated guide discussed in Ispra

The fifth European Conference on Connected and Automated Eucod Guide ended at the JRC headquarters of the European Commission – the Common Research Center of the European Commission – of Ispra (Varese). An event of a high academic, institutional and technological event that brought together the main public and private stakeholders to take stock of the most recent progress in the sector. In particular, the theme of the challenges that must be overcome for the implementation of cooperative mobility, connected and automated (CCCCH) in Europe, has been addressed to Ispra.
Organized by the European Commission in collaboration with the European partnership on the CCCH and the Fame project, the Eucad Conference reiterated that automation in road transport is essential to promote the main political priorities of the European Commission. That is, to make our society more ecological and digitized, but also industries and economies. And obtain from an increasingly strict dialogue between connected vehicles and autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles a decisive improvement in safety, as well as that fluidity of traffic which is also the basis of the reduction of emissions.
In recent years there have been significant progress in Europe, with automated solutions supported by reference regulatory paintings such as EU regulation on automated driving systems, already in the phase of large -scale affirmation.
However, further tests, demonstrations and collaboration between the interested parties – was reiterated at the ISPRA conference – are essential to accelerate implementation and overcome obstacles, guaranteeing a fluid transition to the CCCH.
“While we approach large -scale demonstrations by 2030 – said the organizers of the conference – we must continue to improve the readiness and technological maturity of the cooperative mobility solutions, connected and automated (CCCH) to capitalize on the results of research and innovation so far achieved in the context of Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe”.
