Who can travel only in one direction? Confusing task with DA

Situational tests from the rules of movement are an effective tool for preparing for exams and maintaining the proper level of the driver’s attentiveness in real life. They help to develop quick orientation skills in road conditions, the correct reading of signs and making decisions in accordance with DA.

This is especially true in difficult situations that are often found at intersections. We offer to test ourselves with a difficult test.

Which car driver has the right to move in only one direction?

  1. The driver of the red car;
  2. Blue driver;
  3. Drivers of blue and red cars;
  4. The driver of the white car;
  5. The driver of the yellow car;
  6. Drivers of red and white cars.

Explanation

The image is a crossroads, which appeared four cars. The intersection is unregulated because it does not have a traffic light. Road signs will help.

Let’s start from left to right – with the driver of the red car. He drove in the left lane, and there are several characters in front of him: sign 2.3 “Main Road”, sign 7.8 “Direction of the main road”. This means that the driver of the red car is on the main road – like a yellow car – so both have an advantage over white and blue.

But these signs do not give us information about the direction. The “Direction of the strips” sign will help, which shows the permitted options depending on the strip.

It may seem that a red car has the only option – a turn to the left. But in fact, the sign does not prohibit the turn, so the driver is allowed to go left or turn – two directions.

The yellow car strip allows you to move directly and to the right. Again, these are two options, both are allowed.

We go to a white car. He travels with signs:

  • 2.1 “Give the road”;
  • Plate 7.8 “Direction of the main road”;
  • 4.5 “Move to the right or left.”

This means that the driver can go straight, left or turn, because the turn is not prohibited – again, several options.

And now – a blue car. He also sees the sign “Movement directly or to the left”, which formally admits three options: straight, on the left, turn.

But the blue car drove in the extreme right lane. In accordance with paragraph 10.4 DA, the driver is obliged to occupy the corresponding extreme position on the roadway to turn to the left or turn. Exceptions – only for circular intersections, directions determined by signs or marking, or if other options are not available. In this case, exceptions do not work.

Therefore, the driver of the blue car from the right strip cannot turn left or turn around. And the sign or left also does not allow the right turn. Thus, the only direction in which the blue driver can continue movement, movement directly.

The correct answer

Correct answer: 2 – driver of the blue car. He is the only one who has the right to go only in one direction.

OBOZ.UA also published interesting and useful tests for testing knowledge about traffic:

  • Try to determine who has an advantage in the intersection;
  • solve the problem of which driver who should give way;
  • Or think about which car will be another difficult intersection.
