During the last week, from May 9 to May 13, the prices for wholesale trade in fuel increased in Ukraine.

According to enkorr, on average, the price increased by UAH 5 – up to UAH 62/l. Depending on the region and conditions of purchase, prices fluctuated between 57-65 UAH / l, often sellers voiced price over 70 UAH/l.

On South country, the situation with the availability of the resource and prices for it has not changed much. In the northern regions the cost of a diesel engine jumped by 10 UAH/l per week – from 60 to 70 UAH.

“Such trading did not last more than a few hours, since there were many people who wanted it,” said one of the traders. For example, a batch of ten wagons brought from the port in Gdansk was sold in 2-3 days.the publication noted.

In the West In Ukraine, the price of diesel increased by UAH 12 over the week and averages UAH 59 per liter. The price offer for the last few days fluctuated from 57 to 60 UAH/l. In central and eastern regions sold fuel at 65-70 UAH/l. There the lack of resources is acutely felt.

“Despite the mitigations that were introduced by the state when importing fuels, traders also complain about the duration of registration and paperwork at the points of registration when importing fuel”– added to enkorr.

Suspicion of conspiracy

Since the beginning of May, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has been checking the situation with prices and fuel shortages. Various data received by the state agency testify to different things, but do not exclude versions regarding the conspiracy of large market players to increase fuel prices.

According to the agency, there is enough fuel in the country, but some operators do not sell it or contribute to the formation of kilometer-long queues at gas stations. As part of the market research, the AMCU members met with representatives of large filling station chains.

Business representatives are convinced that state regulation of fuel prices and the impossibility of a sharp restructuring of logistics chains abroad to meet the needs of the Ukrainian market are quickly preventing the problem from being solved.

Earlier, the editors of Segodnya spoke with a representative of the A-95 consulting group, Sergei Kuyun, and asked him what is happening on the fuel market, when the panic will end and what Ukrainians can expect very soon.
