(ANSA) – NEW YORK, 02 JUN – Sheryl Sandberg’s resignation from number two in Meta leaves a void in Silicon Valley, where high-profile women are increasingly a rarity and Big Tech is increasingly confirming itself as a club of almost alone men. The step backwards marks the end of an era for one of America’s most famous female managers and one of the symbols of Silicon Valley. Even though women have made progress in recent years, the top management levels are still dominated by men. In 2021, only 26% of chief executives and general managers were women. A low share but increasing compared to 15% in 2019.
“I like to think that the careers I have had and that of other leading women can inspire other women. A hundred years ago there were no women, today there are some. I hope my daughters can grow up in a world where there are there are many more women “managers and at work, Sandberg says with the Washington Post. (HANDLE).
