Drivers will pay more for a full tank: what are the prices at gas stations in the UK

The cost of a full tank of gasoline in the UK for the first time costs more than 100 pounds (3.7 thousand UAH). Owners of cars with diesel engines will pay 103.4 pounds (UAH 3.8 thousand).

According to Bloomberg, such amounts were counted in the British car service company RAC.

According to analysts, fuel prices rose due to the rising cost of oil on the world market. The more expensive the fuel, the more expensive the products in all sectors of the economy.

Price increase in the UK

The rise in oil prices is associated with Western sanctions against Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine. Traders are worried about the decrease in the supply of the Russian resource and whether there will be anything to replace it.

Representatives of the RAC calculated that to fill a standard car with a 55-liter gas tank, you will have to pay 100.27 pounds (3.7 thousand UAH). At the same time, if you fill up with diesel, it will cost 103.43 pounds (3.8 thousand UAH).

On average in the UK, gasoline prices rose by 0.9% to 182.31 pence per liter, while diesel prices rose by 0.8% to 188.05 pence. Motorists are asking the government to mitigate the impact of the unprecedented rise in prices, as gasoline in the United Kingdom has risen in price by 40% and diesel by 43% in a year.

Current prices

According to the resource Fuelo, unleaded gasoline 95 is priced at 1.74 pounds (64.45 UAH) per liter. Unleaded gasoline 98 costs 1.76 pounds (65.19 UAH) per liter.

A liter of diesel can be bought for 1.88 pounds (69.64 UAH), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is sold for 0.74 pounds (27.41 UAH) per liter.

During the week, only the price of A-98 remained stable at UK gas stations. A-95 gasoline has risen in price by 3 pence (UAH 1.11), and a liter of diesel – by 2 pence (UAH 0.74). LNG initially showed a trend of 2 pence cheaper, but at the end of the week it again took a course of growth.

What are the predictions?

The banking holding and the largest US bank JPMorgan predicts an increase in gasoline prices by another 30%, and this is after a preliminary increase in the cost by 53%. At the same time, the demand for fuel among Americans is only growing, given the beginning of the summer period and the implementation of the EU oil embargo against Russia.

According to HUG’S Managing Partner Eric Nyman, the significant increase in the cost of gasoline, together with inflation of 8.3% in the US, creates a difficult situation. Its consequences will be felt by the whole world only after some time.

And no matter what, American drivers have no plans to cut their gasoline consumption. To somehow resolve the situation, the US government allowed the sale of fuel with a high content of ethanol, which is usually forbidden to use in the summer due to harmful emissions.
