Snam: 1st half-year revenues exceed 1.5 billion

Mafia, Hall:

(ANSA) – MILAN, 27 JUL – Snam closed the first 6 months of the year with revenues up by almost 10% (+ 9.7%) over 1.59 billion euros. EBITDA fell by 0.7% to € 1.15 billion, following the reduction of € 64 million in the return on invested capital (WACC) set by Arera. Net profit increased by 1.7% to 646 million, also due to the contribution of investee companies, while the estimate for net profit at the end of the year rose to 1.13 billion. Technical investments decreased to 537 million euros and debt from 14.02 to 12.82 billion euros, following the temporary reduction in working capital following balancing activities.

In the first 6 months, the Group contributed to the filling of national stockpiles by injecting approximately 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the first half of the year. This was announced by the Group which, on the energy security front, has signed agreements for the purchase of two new floating storage and regasification units (FSRU).

The results of the first half, according to the CEO Stefano Venier, “confirm the solidity of our core business, the positive operating performance and the growth in the contribution of new businesses and investee companies”.

“In the new geopolitical and energy context – underlines the Manager – Snam plays an increasingly central role in the security and diversification of supplies in Italy and Europe”. “We are also committed to enabling the energy transition – concludes Venier – as demonstrated by our support for the listing of De Nora, the main European IPO” of 2022.
