Ukrainians will be transferred tariffs for electricity: how much everyone will have to pay

In Ukraine, from June 1, electricity tariffs may be increased. The current price does not cover the cost of electricity generation and delivery. In addition, it does not allow financing repairs to restore power facilities damaged by Russian attacks. The price of kWh after the rise in price can be about 2.4 UAH.

This is stated in the material GLOBAL HAPPENINGS. After the increase in the electricity tariff, the cost of kWh will still be significantly less than the market price. Now with consumption up to 250 kWh. each month costs UAH 1.44, if the family spends more per month, then for each kWh they must pay UAH 1.68. According to the new rules, the price can be from 2.4 to 2.8 UAH per kWh.

In this case, the gradation will be left. Those who spend less current will pay less for electricity. It is also possible to introduce a market price only for those who consume large amounts of electricity. The exact decision in the Ministry of Energy has not yet been made.

In total, about ten options for increasing electricity tariffs were considered. And although for most families the amounts in payments will change slightly, this decision is traditionally not popular among Ukrainians. In addition, after the start of a full-scale war, a moratorium on tariff increases was maintained in the government. However, as a result, the moratorium will have to be abolished. Back in April, water tariffs were raised, now it’s time for electricity.

The cost of gas remains unchanged. The price was fixed until at least May 2024.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS wrote earlier, the options for raising tariffs were also voiced by the head of the relevant committee, Andriy Gerus. He believes that the maximum cost of kWh will be about UAH 2.8.
