Accounts of Ukrainians are blocked for the slightest debts: the Cabinet of Ministers explained what to do in this case

Rules have changed in Ukraine since May blocking bank accounts for debts. If earlier only those debtors who did not pay at least UAH 100,000 could be left without access to their funds, now this applies even to those who need to pay UAH 200 (for example, a fine or a debt for a communal apartment).

At the same time, the Ministry of Reintegration has already appeals are massively received from citizens whose accounts have been blocked. The Ministry of Reintegration and the Ministry of Justice held a meeting and developed recommendations for those in such a situation:

  • in case of seizure of funds on several accounts or the presence of several enforcement proceedings to carry out debit transactions, only one account in one bank must be defined;
  • in order to determine such an account, a person must apply to the GIS authority or a private executor that has seized his funds, with a corresponding application in paper or electronic form;
  • the application must indicate the number of the current account and the name of the bank where such an account is opened.

For additional advice, you can contact the center of the free legal aid system at: 0 800 213 103 (calls are free).

Such an account must be determined, since by law an individual can spend UAH 13,400 per month from the arrested current account. Also from it you can pay taxes and fees excluding arrest.

Important, that arrest can be imposed on any type of account – card, deposit, current, etc. In addition, after the arrest of one account, a person can no longer open new accounts – all of them are also blocked. The blocking is removed only after the repayment of the debt.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, if you maliciously do not pay, the last property can be taken away for utility bills, even if it is dirty dishes or an old bucket. Despite the full-scale war, the judicial system does not stop.
