(ANSA) – MILAN, NOV 10 – In the first nine months of the year Mediaset recorded growth results both in relation to the same period of 2020, but also compared to the first nine months of 2019, still not impacted by the Covid pandemic.
In detail, net revenues amounted to 1,992 million compared to 1,722 in the first nine months of last year, with a 10.5% growth in activities in Italy. Profit, with a record figure in the third quarter, is 273 million compared to 10.5 in 2020 and also 92 million in the nine months of 2019, with a level that would remain on the rise even if we subtract the extraordinary items of the Towertel sale and of the Dailymotion litigation. For the entire year, the television group confirms “a decisive strengthening of economic results (EBIT and net result) and of cash generation compared to the last two years”.
In addition to the “very positive” first nine months of the year, Mediaset in particular sees advertising sales growing also in October compared to the same month of 2019, obviously still without the impact of the pandemic. The estimates for November and December are positive.
In fact, the television group recorded a “good trend in gross television advertising revenues” both in Italy and for the Spanish subsidiary: in Italy in the first nine months, revenues reached 1,346 million compared to 1,107 million in the same period of 2020, a figure that is also ranks above 2019 (1,332 million).
