(ANSA) – ROME, DECEMBER 05 – “Metalloinvest is and will be a key partner for the European steel industry in the transformation towards a low carbon footprint. We believe that we will play an important role in this transformation”. This was stated by Nazim Efendiev, CEO of the Russian steel giant Metalloinvest, in an interview with ANSA on the sidelines of the “Russia Forum: Driving the Future” event at Expo 2020 Dubai. Efendiev underlines how his company wants to support European companies in reducing their carbon footprint because “we are the number one company in the world in Hbi”, hot briquetted iron, the use of which allows CO2 emissions 35% lower than in traditional technological cycle which includes the production of hot iron and the production of steel with oxygen.
