Every second adult in Germany would like to see the Oscar-nominated drama “Nothing New in the West” – or has already seen it.
This is the result of a survey published on Thursday by the market research institute YouGov. Accordingly, 37 percent of those surveyed are interested in watching the drama. 12 percent have already done so. 43 percent do not want to see it.
The great interest in director Edward Berger’s anti-war drama is probably due to its nine Oscar nominations. “Nothing New in the West” has been nominated for “Best Film” among other things.
The film is based on the novel by Erich Maria Remarque, which tells of the horrors of World War I from the perspective of a young soldier. (dpa)
