the president of United States, Joe Bidenattended a virtual White House meeting with economic advisers this Friday to emphasize his good health, a day after testing positive for coronavirus.

Speaking remotely in a meeting to discuss White House to lower the price of gas, Biden appeared strong and in good spirits, but with a notably deeper voice, hours after his doctor issued a statement saying his symptoms had improved.

“I’m feeling a lot better than I look,” Biden said, apologizing for intermittent coughing as he described the latest attempts to lower the price of gas. “Gasoline prices are going down. In fact, gasoline prices have been falling every day,” she said.

Sitting at a table in the White House residence, between a packet of Halls candy and a box of tissues that was quickly removed before he began his remarks, Biden gave a thumbs up when asked by reporters how he was feeling.

A published letter from White House physician Kevin O’Connor said Biden had a slightly higher-than-normal temperature (37.4C) on Thursday night but responded well to Tylenol and is breathing normally.

“Your voice is deeper this morning. Your pulse, blood pressure, respiration rate and oxygen saturation remain normal in ambient air,” she said.

Covid coordinator for the White House, Ashish Jha, told CNN that Biden is fine, and that his mild symptoms are basically the same. The president had a runny nose, fatigue, and an occasional dry cough, O’Connor said.

Biden tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursdaywhen the White House said he had mild symptoms and would continue to work, but in isolation.

On Friday, the White House sought to convey a sense of normalcy, publishing another photo of Biden signing a bill the day before wearing a black mask.

O’Connor said Biden’s two usual drugs, Eliquis for atrial fibrillation and the cholesterol drug Crestor, are temporarily on hold to avoid interfering with his treatment with the antiviral drug Paxlovid. A low-dose aspirin is being added to Biden’s treatment as an alternative anticoagulant.

“The president is tolerating the treatment well,” O’Connor said.

Biden, who at 79 is the oldest person to hold the office of president of the United States, was due to hold three virtual meetings with his team this Friday, including economic, legislative and national security advisers, showed his public agenda released by the White House. .

Jha said it was still unclear exactly where Biden, who recently returned from a trip to the Middle East, contracted the coronavirus. He told CNN that he was not aware of any related cases among Biden’s close contacts, but that the White House continued to trace contacts.
