The agency added Mixer to the list called the “Specially Designated Nationals List” (SDN), which is intended to track people, companies and sanctioned cryptocurrency addresses.
Other addresses linked to Tornado Cash are banned
In addition to the transaction scrambling service, 44 more virtual wallet addresses on the network Ethereum (ETH) and gives stablecoin USDC have been added to the list.
One of them, “0x8589427373D6D84E98730D7795D8f6f8731FDA16”, is linked to a donation address for the Tornado Cash service according to Etherscan (Ethereum block explorer)
Furthermore, “0xDD4c48C0B24039969fC16D1cdF626eaB821d3384” is also linked to the Mixer protocol and belongs to a Web 3.0 project funding project, Gitcoin Grants.
The specific wallet, included in the US Treasury’s blacklist, is the address where the project would finance Tornado Cash. The financing fund had already received US$ 60,625, which would now be under the supervision of the US Treasury.
