O Vasco da Gamaclub of soccer announced this Wednesday (29) a partnership with TeroLabs, a company focused on NFTs sports.

The announced partnership results in the launch of an official Vasco collection, and now fans will be able to purchase digital stickers that tell about the history, and about the current players of the club.

TeroLabs is also behind the collection 11 Rough Diamonds, which selected 11 youth players from different teams and created a club with exclusives. The gateway to this club is each player’s NFTs.

The purpose of the collection Basque is to promote interaction between fans and players. The club may offer exclusive gifts to holders of certain NFTssuch as jerseys used in games, tickets and much more.

“We are very happy with this partnership, we know the importance of democratizing innovation and we understand that the best way to start this process is to associate the digital asset with something tangible. It is with this thought that Vasco comes to the market with this new project, aiming at the potential of bringing the fans closer not only to the Club but also to the athletes”, said Fernanda Gélio, Vasco da Gama’s innovation manager.

How will Vasco’s NFTs be?

All current players in Vasco da Gama’s professional squad will have their digital cards divided into four levels of rarity:

  • Legendary (1 from each athlete)
  • Replicas (29 of each athlete)
  • Rare (70 from each athlete)
  • Common (1010 of each athlete)

The rarer the NFT, the greater the number of points acquired after the player’s performance within the four lines, according to the company

Accumulation of points after each match can lead fans to purchase exclusive and official club items, such as the official game shirt worn by a given athlete. The partnership is valid for one year and will start in the 2023 Brazilian Championship.

Bruno Pessoa, CEO of Tero Labs, comments that the partnership is an indication that the technological and innovation market has aroused interest in several areas, especially in football.

“We want to strengthen the fan’s relationship with the heart club, and I believe that this first step with Vasco da Gama is fundamental for the perpetuation of this new business model”, he said.
