THE VALE (VALE3) It will have a new legal vice president from June. The lawyer Sami Arap was chosen to take office, in another change promoted by Gustavo Pimentacurrent president of the company, who took command in 2024 and has been conducting a reformulation in the high leadership of the mining company.
According to a statement issued to the market, Arap’s appointment was approved by Vale’s Board of Directors at an extraordinary meeting.
Who is Sami Arap?
In recent years, Arap has acted as a legal advisor in New York, United Statesserving companies from the infrastructure and mining sectors.
He is graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), has a master’s degree from the New York University School of Law and specialized at Harvard Law School.
Throughout his career, he also worked for companies like Odebrecht, Enron and Brazil Telecombesides being a partner of ARAP office, Nishi & Uyeda Advogados.
Vale: Other changes
Also according to the statement, at the same meeting, the Council approved the closure of the mandate of Alexandre D’AmbrósioCurrent Executive Vice President Legal and Corporate and Institutional Affairs, which will leave the company in June.
D’Ambrósio has been in Vale since 2018 and is responsible for the legal, tax, corporate, intellectual property, trade compliance and data protection areas. He also acts as director of Vale Internacional.
