The head of the Servant of the People party, Elena Shulyak, said that there were no legislative grounds to deprive deputy Alexander Trukhin of his mandate, who appeared in the accident.

She said this in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“If there are no legal grounds to recall him and take away his mandate, then how can you break the law? And you cannot take him away in any way. Whether he remains a deputy or not will depend on how much he believes that his behavior was unworthy and how much he can surrender the mandate himself. I count on his conscience”Shulyak noted.

According to her, the situation with Trukhin once again raises the issue of applying an “imperative mandate” for people’s deputies.

“It seems to me that now is a very good time to start this discussion. Re-introduce the bill regarding the imperative mandate”– summed up the head of the party.
