(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 28 FEB – Refugees from Ukraine continue to arrive in Italy through the Fernetti crossing, near Trieste. These are women and children, who, according to what is learned, intend to reach friends and relatives in other cities of the country waiting to understand the evolution of the situation.

At the moment, no one has expressed a willingness to apply for asylum. Over a hundred people arrived during the night, while other buses arrived in the morning. Refugees travel by bus, van or private car. All are in possession of the documents to enter the national territory.

The flow of arrivals is likely to increase in the next few hours and days, also given the bus queues that have formed at the borders of other countries. The refugees have not needed any particular assistance so far. The border police in these hours is engaged in documentary checks and in the verification of the destination areas of those arriving.
