(ANSA) – VATICAN CITY, JUN 10 – “The dignity of men and women is also threatened by the inhuman and increasingly widespread practice of the ‘rented uterus’, in which women, almost always poor, are exploited, and children are treated like commodities. ” The Pope said this in an audience with the Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe.
The Pope also reiterated the need to reverse the trend of the demographic decline. “This demographic winter is serious, please be careful, it is very serious”, “in Europe and especially in Italy”.
The Pontiff also underlined the problem of pornography, “a permanent attack on the dignity of man and woman”, and reiterated that the family founded on marriage between a man and a woman is not “an ideological model” but is the first cell of a community, “unique and indispensable”.
