(ANSA) – TURIN, 25 JUL – The first activists who will participate in the second European Meeting of Fridays for future, to be held at the Einaudi University Campus, together with the Climate Social Camp, at the Colletta park, arrived in Turin last night. Until 29 July the calendar includes conferences and workshops and in the coming days there will also be Greta Thunberg.

“In these events we will talk about the current climate and ecological crisis, and how to act together in the coming months, comparing the situations in the various countries from which the participants come”, explain the organizers. “A central theme will be that of the decolonization of the movement – add the Fff -. Our intent is to give the same importance to the needs and voices of people from all countries, so that issues that currently pass are treated with the right importance. in the background. What is happening now is that the voices of the people and areas most affected are ignored, or intentionally silenced. For this reason we have also invited activists from countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa, particularly affected by the climate crisis and between the least responsible for causing it “.

Meanwhile, the fundraising to support the event continues: “We have decided to finance ourselves and to refuse funding from large unethical companies”. Over 20 thousand euros were collected through the ‘Gift Network’ portal. The collection, which aims at 30 thousand euros, will end in four days. (HANDLE).
