(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, AUGUST 13 – The commercial operations of Rojen, the cargo ship flying the Maltese flag and loading 15 thousand tons of corn seeds destined for feed for livestock, are underway at the port of Ravenna, ‘Cereali’ quay. from Chornomorsk, near Odessa, on August 5, as part of trade agreements that reopen exports from Ukraine.

The cargo arrived at anchor in Ravenna yesterday morning but the mooring on the quay only took place in the late evening due to the operations of another ship that were slowed down by bad weather. The Ukrainian ambassador Yaroslav Melnyk and the commander Francesco Cimmino, maritime director of Emilia-Romagna, among the authorities, welcomed the boat with the Coast Guard personnel who are overseeing the operations.

The unloading of the Rojen started this morning around 8.50am. The operations will last at least about 30 hours. According to what is learned, they should end on Tuesday 16 August. On the same day at the port of Ravenna another ship from Ukraine is expected – the Sacura, with 11 thousand tons of soybeans for animal feed – while the Mv Mustafa Necati, with 6 thousand tons of crude sunflower oil.
