(ANSA) – AVELLINO, AUGUST 18 – Stop the 118 ambulances that do not have red code patients. The decision was taken by the medical director of the “Moscati” of Avellino, Rosario Lanzetta, to face the serious situation that has been registered for weeks in the emergency room of the hospital in the Irpinia capital. In the note sent to the head of 118 of the ASL, Rosaria Bruno, Lanzetta invites her “to want to consider the medico-legal implications linked to careless transfers” of patients who have not been classified in red code. To cope with the overcrowding, the health management has decided to suspend the planned surgical interventions in order to recover beds and medical-health personnel to be allocated to the emergency.
