(ANSA) – FLORENCE, AUGUST 23 – Two arrests for ‘group sexual violence’ and ‘illegal dissemination of sexually explicit videos’ were carried out by the carabinieri for the abuse of a Canadian tourist on the night between 29 and 30 July last in Impruneta (Florence). The arrested are two men aged 34 and 26 considered seriously suspected of the two crimes in conjunction with two other suspects. The carabinieri of Scandicci and Impruneta carried out the arrests after an investigation coordinated by the Florence prosecutor’s office and in implementation of a precautionary measure to house arrest issued by the investigating judge of Florence at the request of the prosecutor Beatrice Giunti for the danger of ‘reiteration of the crime’. In the story, among the evidence collected, there is a video that portrays the victim while she was being abused. It is a video that was made by one of the arrested and was then illegally disseminated to other subjects via WhatsApp. According to reconstructions, the 35-year-old Canadian tourist, who was traveling alone in Italy, had spent the evening in a club in Impruneta with two men. The sexual violence would have occurred when the woman was in a state of drunkenness, a circumstance that the attackers would have taken advantage of by forcing her will.
