The first national council of food districts is born

(ANSA) – ROME, NOVEMBER 25 – The first national council of food districts is born. The organization was presented today in Rome at the Cavour room of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies with the patronage of Anci, Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces and Mipaaf. The Council aims to jointly represent the interests of the Districts, to safeguard and protect the environmental, cultural, tourist, landscape and food and wine heritage represented by the system of Agri-food Districts and to make the intangible heritage and wealth known in Italy and in the world of landscapes and the qualities of the territories. Among the objectives is to enhance and accredit the experience of the Districts also in their function of “intermediate body”, to strengthen the planning and initiative capacity of the territories and for a better management of available resources. To date, there are 20 district contracts, assessed as eligible for funding with projects that can be immediately set up. “Activating these 20 development programs – says the spokesperson of the Council Angelo Barone – would be an important signal for an immediate restart of the agri-food sector which still today represents one of the main engines of Made in Italy but it is necessary to create a system and have a shared strategy to use better both the resources of the PNNR and the CAP “. “We appreciated – he adds – that the Mipaaf has placed 120 million euros in the budget law for the food districts and we look forward to a further amendment to integrate the resources necessary to finance all the projects admitted and start the first investment action consistent with the Pnnr “.
