100 days Trump 2.0: The US President has caused irreparable damage

A felt eternity. So the stormy time has been working since January 20, when Donald Trump was sworn in as President for the second time. And yet only 100 days have passed since then. 100 days in which the man’s survey values, who sometimes describes himself as the “greatest president of all time”, have decreased steadily.

A reason to breathe a sigh of relief? Not in the slightest. Because Trump has already caused irreparable damage.

The American institutions are strong, they would prevent Trump from implementing many projects. Attaching words like this were heard in many cases after his re -election.

But in the first 100 days of his second term, Trump succeeded in sowing considerable doubts. Because it shows what is possible if the president no longer adheres to the rules.

The intermediate elections in November 2026 will bring the political turn and with it new majority relationships in the congress to be disadvantageous in Trump, the appeasers already have to say.

But what are the scales of elections if the president overrides over congress resolutions, sees himself above the law? What if MPs no longer express a different opinion for fear?

The state institutions are always only as strong as political will to protect them. This is the most blatant difference to Trump’s first term. At the time, his politics was still largely within the institutional framework of the United States, today it aims to destroy it.

Instead of the critical voices within the administration, which Trump whistled back again and again, the president is almost exclusively surrounded by people who reinforce him in his course.

“I brought back freedom of expression!” This statement of Trump can only be perceived as cynical. Because even beyond his environment, many critics are silent. The President has perceived his threat of practicing retaliation.
