Nordio: “Nothing new on Almasri, possible violation of the documents”

“On the Almasri case, no escape, because there is nothing new under the sun. What I said at the time in Parliament I would say it today: the situation has not changed, the chatter reported by the press is completely unfounded”. The Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio said it by intervening to the question time in the Senate. “If it is necessary we will clarify at the appropriate time any other news, which now do not present themselves – he added – except as any violations of confidential documents of which it is not clear how someone has come into possession. This will also be the subject of clarification by the judicial authority”.

“We will report to Parliament when the time is, but the acts we have radically denied what has been reported in the newspapers”. This was said by the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio about the Almasri case, arriving at the Conference for the resumption of Ukraine, in Rome.

“We at Italy Viva were among the first to ask for clarity on this which is an opaque affair. It is now very clear that Minister Nordio and Prime Minister Meloni have lied to Parliament and the country. It is a very serious fact from a democratic point of view, which undermines our institutions,” said the senator Raffaella Paita, group leader in the Senate of Italy Viva, a guest of Agorà Summer on Rai Tre. “The press has clearly reported that there is an email in which the head of Cabinet of Nordio, Giusi Bartolozzi, asks for confidentiality and proposes to communicate through Signal. It is evident that either he resigns Nordio or he resigns Bartolozzi, is a fact of civilization. The government must tell the truth to the Italians”, adds Paita.
