Drosten dismantles claims made by opponents of vaccinations via Twitter

After almost two years of living in a global pandemic, there is often only one thing left to do: a good dose of sarcasm. Especially when you are constantly dealing with unconventional thinkers, vaccination refusals and would-be scientists. Virologist Christian Drosten vented his anger on Twitter and commented sarcastically on the often questionable rumors about Corona.

“Anyone who believes that they can train their immune system through an infection must consequently also believe that they can train their digestion through a steak,” tweeted Drosten on Wednesday.

He was amazed at how many misunderstandings and misconceptions there were about infection, vaccination and immunity. With a little more knowledge, many could save their aggressiveness and instead make better decisions for themselves, wrote the virologist.

The tweet met with a great response. As expected, the reactions range from approval to sharp criticism.

Drosten, who badly represents the voice of reason and science for some, has also become a figure of hatred for others. Otherwise, technical knowledge can be found on his Twitter channel. His critics then rage in the comments and retweets on his posts.

The virologist adds to his sarcastic tweet: “Seriously, immune response vs.“ strong immune system ”is like learning vs. intelligence. I can memorize a poem, but it hasn’t made me any smarter. I can survive an infection, but it did not “strengthen my immune system” “.

A short time later, Drosten found his way back to his usual patient manner. In the coming days he will take up some of the non-destructive objections on Twitter and answer them briefly, he announced. (Tsp)
