Vezzali signs the Joint Olympic Council constitution decree

(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 30 – The undersecretary for sport, Valentina Vezzali, has signed the constitution decree of the Joint Olympic Council. This is the body which will have the function of general direction with respect to the implementation of the Games program and which involves the various state administrations, national and international sports bodies and public and private entities involved in the implementation of the program.

The Joint Olympic Council will be composed of 15 members, including a representative of the International Olympic Committee, one of the International Paralympic Committee, one of the Italian National Olympic Committee, one of the Italian Paralympic Committee, one of the Organizing Committee, one of the Department for Sport. at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, one from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, one from the Lombardy Region, one from the Veneto Region, one from the Autonomous Province of Trento, one from the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, one from the Municipality of Milan and one of the Municipality of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The Council will meet at least once every three months, will remain in office until 2026 and will therefore have the task of monitoring the implementation of the Games program, acting in accordance with the Olympic Charter and national and international legislation, guaranteeing the requirements of transparency.
