(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 13 – Robert Lewandowski, whose contract with Bayern Munich expires in June 2023, has refused an extension, paving the way for a departure this summer. This is what the German media are writing. “The goal machine Robert Lewandowski will leave the club by the summer of 2023”, assures the newspaper Sport Bild: “In recent weeks the best FIFA player 2021 has announced to his managers at Bayern that he would not renew his contract, however valid for one year”.

The Sport1 site, citing its sources, confirms this information. So far, Bayern management has always said they refuse to part with the 33-year-old Polish striker (343 goals in Bavarian shirt since 2014) but, the German media note, not selling him this summer would mean letting him go for free next summer. According to the European press, Lewandowski has recently been in contact with Barcelona.

However, Catalan coach Xavi explained that this transfer would be “complicated” due to Barcelona’s financial situation. (HANDLE).
