Volley Nations League, 14 blue for debut in Ankara

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 26 – Once the cycle of friendlies in Tuscany is over, the female volleyball team, reigning European champion, is preparing to face the Nations League, starting on May 31st. In view of the debut, the coach, Davide Mazzanti, has chosen the 14 blue who will take part in Pool 2 scheduled at the Ataturk Sports Hall in Ankara from 31 May to 5 June.

Italy’s opponents will be the hosts of Turkey, Belgium, Holland and China. Italy will leave for the Turkish capital on Sunday 29 May from Milan and on the 31st they will take the field against the Turks. The new format of the tournament will be divided into three weeks of play, during which each national team will play four games, for a total of 12. At the end of the three pools, the best seven teams (plus Turkey) will face each other in the Final Eight scheduled in Ankara from 13 to 17 July.

These are called: dribblers, Francesca Bosio and Ofelia Malinov; crushers, Alessia Gennari, Sofia D’Odorico, Elena Perinelli, Alice Degradi and Terry Enweonwu; opposites: Silvia Nwakalor; central, Marina Lubian, Sara Bonifacio, Cristina Chirichella, Alessia Mazzaro; free, Monica De Gennaro and Eleonora Fersino.
