Times: “Uefa is ready to punish Juve, Inter and Roma on the FPF”

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 23 – Risk of fines, and even restrictions on the market for some top European clubs, including Juventus, Inter and Rome: according to rumors collected by the British newspaper Times, the three Italian clubs are part of about twenty European clubs which will soon be sanctioned by UEFA for financial fair play. The European football government – the Times writes today – should announce disciplinary measures shortly, already in September. Measures, of different entities, which will affect other top-clubs such as Paris Saint Germani, Barcelona and Arsenal.

According to what reported by the British newspaper, the sanctions for Inter and Roma refer to the 2020/21 season: informed of the imminent action of Uefa, the two Italian clubs have already started the negotiations, in order to reduce the measures including an economic fine and limitation to the next market. Conversely, Juventus’ position is more complicated, as they have an ongoing legal dispute with Uefa arising from the SuperLega project.

According to the current UEFA rules, a club can accumulate a maximum of debts of no more than 30 million euros over three years, excluding however investments destined for the women’s team and the youth sector. Parameters that evidently, according to the European supervisory bodies, the three Italian clubs have not respected. (HANDLE).
