British promoter Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) Frank Warren accused the team of Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) of disrupting the fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title. A representative of the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, noted that his client had always wanted to fight our compatriot.
Warren stated this in an interview with the Seconds Out YouTube channel. He added that Fury was a little upset because of the cancellation of the fight, but the main culprit for the failure of the negotiations was Usyk, who allegedly tried to achieve more favorable financial conditions for himself.
“I sincerely believed that Usyk wanted a fight, saying that he was not interested in money and so on. Like, he just wants to fight for four belts. You can decorate everything, pounce on me or Tyson. But Usyk refused to fight. They refused “From. To the fight. Tyson is a little upset. We haven’t talked to him yet. He’ll do whatever he wants. He’s the guy who enters the ring. Everyone who sits and pours their comments from the side… I find it quite offensive,” Warren said.
Earlier, the World Boxing Association (WBA) put forward an ultimatum to Usyk and Fury and named Briton Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) as a mandatory contender for the Ukrainian champion belt. Our compatriot after the news about the failure of the fight with Tyson decided to leave his training camp. And the Briton was literally mad because of the cancellation of the fight and bombarded Alexander with insults.
Prior to this, the manager of the Ukrainian Egis Klimas spoke out sharply for Fury due to the fact that he was dragging out the negotiations. Alexander himself also made a statement about the fight, noting that the ball is now on Tyson’s side. In turn, the British coach Sugar Hill Steward spoke about his ward’s plan for the fight.
As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krasyuk revealed the details of negotiations with Tyson Fury and the reason for the cancellation of the historic superfight. And boxing fans smashed the gypsy king online.
