For 103 million euros: Jude Bellingham moves from BVB to Real Madrid

Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have agreed to sign Jude Bellingham. On Wednesday afternoon, BVB informed about the upcoming transfer, which will bring the club a fixed transfer fee of 103 million euros. According to “Kicker”, there could be additional bonuses of around 34 million euros – depending on Bellingham’s performance.

Bellingham’s departure after three years at BVB has been on the horizon for weeks. In 2020, the 19-year-old switched from the English second division club Birmingham to the Revierclub for around 25 million euros. With good performances, he increased his market value considerably. Even Liverpool FC, which was initially traded as the new Bellingham club, got out of the transfer poker weeks ago in view of the lavish fee.

Bellingham would be the sixth departure of the Bundesliga second after Raphael Guerreiro, Mahmoud Dahoud, Luca Unbehaun, Felix Passlack and Anthony Modeste. A high transfer proceeds for the Englishman could make it easier to find an adequate replacement. “I think that we will reinvest around 60 to 65 percent of the transfer fees that we achieve in this period,” announced managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke recently in the “Bild”.
