The former world champion and vice -president of the professional boxing League of Ukraine Alina Shatnikova said that European athletes and their teams refuse to go to our country through hostilities. But there are those who cross the Atlantic for the sake of payment. Moreover, in our country, after a complete invasion of the Russian Federation, the demand for boxing shows has increased.
In a conversation with OBOZ.UA, the named athlete and organizer of sports events noted the biggest difficulties in creating boxing shows in our country, finding foreign fighters and talking about the algorithm of actions during air alarm.
– Please tell us what is the function of organizing tournaments in Ukraine during the war?
– Given that you don’t know whether you will live at all tomorrow or not … Then the organization of boxing matches is some kind of driving history, because every day you really want to live and create. To create a story, create boxing, do good on this earth. And, accordingly, you do not want to lose …
We love boxing very much. We are those fans of this sport for whom boxing is just life. Therefore, we do this, despite any circumstances.
What are the difficulties in the organization? The most important thing is that foreign rivals, their coaches and teams do not want to go to Ukraine. And this is a big problem with matches, that is, the choice of opponents, an invitation of foreign guests, including judges, so that they come to our competitions.
Perhaps I am a person who understands the deepest of how 24 to 7 – in general – a team of matches, boys and girls who agree, try to find an opponent, from Europe, or from Latin America or from the United States. It is very difficult to agree and is very difficult to provide them with more or less convenient logistics.
Of course, I would not call our logistics very convenient, because we understand that the boxer can reach countries only with open airports near Ukraine, and then fighters with teams, who, for example, fly to Warsaw or Chisinau, just go to the bus.
And believe me, many boxers do not agree with our conditions, not because we offer them non -competitive fees because they are very competitive, but the fighters simply do not want to spend this time of their lives to get to Kyiv for a very long time. Therefore, we always thank those who come.
– What is the interest of the audience?
– It seems to me that people began to understand for ourselves that every day we need to live completely in order not to waste time and emotions. And just as it is now difficult to buy tickets for various performances in the theater, many people are finally clear that going to sports events, including boxing, is very cool. And the dynamics of tickets for boxing for boxing events are currently more than before a full -fledged war.
And such an interest is explained by the fact that people want to get distracted from our terrible everyday life, from the terrible news that we get every day. And these are actually some such joyful moments. For example, now I go to different concerts, to cinemas, so I know that very often problems arise, just buying tickets for the desired game.
Why? Since you come, you look at these performances, and at least for some, for some time you forget that perhaps now the civil residents are under fire, and one of our military at that very moment loses their health, wounded, and someone is generally losing his life.
But thanks to our bold armed forces, territorial defense, to everyone who is now serving, thanks to them we are still living, we still continue to develop our country. And sport is an integral and very important component of the development of our country. And this is what very motivates us – the organizers.
If we stop, close our homes and only sit, shake and think about whether there will be a night shelling today, whether it is flying, then we will not be able to develop this country. And we want to do this, we love Ukraine, and we hold these competitions in order to once again demonstrate that we are the coolest people of this planet, that we are these atlasts who are building the recent history of the planet of the Earth on this day.
And that is why it is even more that the quality of the organization of the competition is at such a level that even the coolest promoters of the world say: “Wow! How do you do everything? “
– What about the security of the competition? Especially after we got into their airfields or on a cliff bridge, and talking about the “hellish” answer and so on begin.
– Everything is very simple and in accordance with the security protocol. If an air signaling begins during the event, then we immediately stop everything. We lead to large screens of the announcement that everyone should get into the shelter, and the announcement was made by a ring. And there are two metro stations next to the sports palace, the Gulliver shopping center has a bombardment. That is why we announce everything about this, and our security has a clear instruction to ask people to go very quickly.
Now this is such a feature of boxing events in Ukraine. But most importantly, everything is respectful, without hysteria. And athletes who at this time are boxing in the ring and spectators – everyone understands and follow clear instructions. And it’s nice.
– And there is some trend that representatives of the countries of certain continents or corners of the Earth are increasingly understanding that our situation agree?
– Europeans do not agree. Boxers from Europe are not ready to work at all. This is easier with boxers from Latin America, they somehow agree. In principle, I understand why somewhere, because the level of their life and abundance is quite low, therefore, to earn money, they are ready to go anywhere, under any circumstances. Because it is important for them to get money. That is, not only the sports component, but also the money earned, play a role. And we do not forget about it.
Boxers from Uzbekistan come on the spot, more or less come from Kazakhstan, and Europeans do not. And if we come to which a country in Europe and turn on the news, then in the news in Italy, France or Germany they always show the situation in Ukraine. They look all, and then do not want to go where the fighting is going. And this is clear.
