(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 23 – “In just 10 days, Amazon teams from all over the world worked together to build a new hub for humanitarian aid in Eastern Europe. We have converted 5,000 square meters of an area warehouse in Slovakia, which was previously used for the distribution of products to customers, in a facility that helps provide the most needed goods for Ukrainian refugees. ” Amazon did this by pointing out that “it is the largest hub of its kind that Amazon has ever built, and that” a network of Amazon fulfillment centers across Europe is now preparing and delivering over 4 million essential goods donated by both Amazon and by our customers. ”The donated goods are distributed to displaced refugees, in collaboration with some organizations including Save The Children and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
“The strategic location of the humanitarian aid hub in Slovakia will significantly accelerate the transport of basic necessities to Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova and the Czech Republic, to quickly help Ukrainian children and families in need – it is explained. on a note: Activating this hub in less than 10 days required a tremendous team effort, and it’s gratifying to see that products are already sorted and delivered to whoever needs them.
We are grateful to our customers for their generosity, to our teams and partners for their work and dedication in supporting refugees at this critical time. We know that this will be a long-term commitment “. (ANSA).
