The first Marsquake was recorded on August 25, 2021 with a magnitude of 4.2. Another happened on September 18 with a magnitude of 4.1.
Both quakes were about five times more powerful than previous seismic activity on the planet, writes newatlas.com.
The second quake was also the longest recorded to date, lasting 94 minutes.
Notably, the rest of the events so far have taken place within a 100 degree radius of InSight, but these two have taken place on the opposite side of the planet. We also wrote that a new discovery about Mars made scientists panic.
