Everyone’s been looking forward to the Pixel 6’s, but these might not come alone. Some sources expect that Google will also unveil its very first folding smartphone, the Pixel Fold. And a concept has just come out.
Google should therefore launch somewhere in the coming weeks two new devices positioned on a high-end segment, the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro.
Very stylish, they should inherit an uncompromising technical sheet and a brand new photo module. The more expensive model would even have three different focal lengths.
A Pixel Fold to go with the Pixel 6?
However, another device could be presented in parallel: the Pixel Fold.
Google, like other manufacturers, would indeed like to position itself on the folding market and the Fold would therefore be the first device in this new range. And if we don’t really know much about him, a designer still had fun making a concept in his honor.
A concept that does not shine by its originality, however.
In fact, the designer behind this video has chosen to take inspiration from what Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 offers. The Pixel Fold therefore takes exactly the same format, with an external screen and a folding internal screen as a bonus. It can therefore switch from smartphone format to tablet format in no time at all.

The back of the phone, for its part, is identical to what the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will offer. We therefore find this wide horizontal bar that conceals the sensors and optics of the phone, and the same finish in two colors.
Failing to be original, this concept at least has the merit of being quite realistic.
During Google I / O 2021, we were indeed able to witness a merger between Google and Samsung. The two firms thus collaborated on WearOS 3.0. And we obviously suspect that this partnership will not stop there. Considering the fact that the Korean manufacturer has a solid experience in folding smartphones, we can therefore reasonably assume that Google will use its services for the Pixel Fold. And so it would not be surprising if the latter is closer to the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
