Meta, the parent company that will include Facebook and all the other apps of the group, between products and services, could develop a smartwatch with which to take photos and videos. In recent days, Bloomberg has released an image showing a rounded-corner watch similar to the Apple Watch, but with a prominent front-facing camera.

According to the experts, this would be a tool fully integrated with the ‘metaverse’ designed by Zuckerberg, where social activities are enjoyed beyond the classic smartphones, tablets and computers, to also land on different devices. Developer Steve Moser has identified the image within the View app, with which the Ray-ban Stories are managed, Facebook’s first attempt to position itself in the hardware market, with the collaboration of EssilorLuxottica.

Moser states that the code within the app indicates that the watch could be called ‘Milan’ and that it would be natively connected to a smartwatch, to be used to share content on the group’s platforms. According to Bloomberg, Meta will launch a watch by 2022 even if it is not certain that it will be the one identified by the developer. The Verge website reported on Facebook’s plans to launch a smartwatch as early as early 2021, equipped with a camera, heart rate monitor and LTE connectivity.
