Three days of intense presentations at the Italian pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, where Inc (Italian National Research Centers) was the protagonist with specific panels about the projects he acts as an umbrella. Inc, in fact, is an Hub, a collective showcase for the five Italian national research centers financed with the PNRR and has the aim of promoting them as potential research partners for universities around the world.
Inc is promoted by the University of Naples Federico II with CNR, Infn, Polytechnic of Milan and University of Padua. The coordination of the project is entrusted to the Emblem Foundation.
The flagship of Incc is a crowdsourcing platform: an hub to put in contact for public and private realities interested in responding to a call for innovation.
Under the umbrella of Inc there are Agritech, ICSC, MOST, NBFC and RNA & Genetherapy. Each of these excellence of Italian research was presented in the Italian pavilion with a specific event, but the various realities collaborated in a cooperative context to enhance the research.
The National Center for RNA & Genetherapy presented the most innovative projects in the field of gene therapy and technologies based on the EN, with applications ranging from personalized medicine to the fight against rare and complex diseases.
Agritech has told the challenge of sustainable agriculture, “a unique opportunity to create international connections and to share the best practices on the application of advanced technologies in the agricultural sector” says Marco Pacini, General Manager of Agritech who moderated a panel with institutional researchers and representatives in which, among others, the professor of CNR Raffaella Maria Balestrini and Professor Giuliano participated Lancella of the University of Naples Federico II.
Then it was the turn of Most (National Center for Sustainable Mobility), which offered an overview of the economic scenarios and the role of research in mobility. A theme that, in the words of Gianmarco Montanari, general manager of the Most Foundation, “touches us as citizens who move, but also as users of goods that move intra and Inter countries” because “quality mobility or not impacts directly on the quality of life of all of us”.
On the last day NBFC (National Biodiversity Future Center) and ICSC took turns. NBFC has offered a large overview of Italian biodiversity, from challenges to enhancement, with particular attention to monitoring and restoration, also analyzing the strategic importance of biodiversity in the context of the 2030 agenda.
ICSC, High Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing National Center, presented its collaborative ecosystem, focused on HPC, Big Data and Quantum.
In the event, the ICSC infrastructure and its applications in the basic research, in the simulation of materials, in digital Healthcare and in the innovation in the quantum calculation was deepened.
