(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 23 – The situation in Mariupol, under constant and incessant bombardment by the Russians, is “the worst catastrophe of this century” and the worst humanitarian catastrophe since the Russian invasion: Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys declared it Shmyhal, speaking at a press conference in Washington. “We will see the terrible atrocities committed by the Russians when the city is liberated,” added Shmyhal. The Russian troops, he said, “are destroying everything”.
It is estimated that at least 100,000 inhabitants are still blocked in Mariupol. Kiev estimates that the deaths in the city are at least 20,000: figures that are difficult to verify for the moment. (HANDLE).
