The movement “Legion of Free Russia” began to operate in the Russian Federation, its members do not support the war unleashed by Vladimir Putin and are trying to prevent the conduct of hostilities against Ukraine.

Oleksiy Arestovich, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, told this to TV presenter Olena Tsintila on the air of a nationwide marathon on the Ukraine24 YouTube channel.

As the adviser to the head of the OP noted, the movement “has picked up the flag of the legion”, which is fighting against Russia on the side of Ukraine.

“Every day I receive dozens of reports about how members of the Legion of Freedom burn down military registration and enlistment offices, police cars, etc. This flag is gradually unfurled by the Russians themselves, it does not need any of our intervention,” he said.

According to Arestovich, there has already been a movement on the railway in Russia, which is trying to prevent the movement of the Russian military to Belarus.

At the same time, he stressed that protest moods are growing mainly in regions far from Moscow:

“Why don’t coffins come to Moscow? Because the Russian army is a declassed element. Muscovites don’t go there, because a Muscovite can earn five times more as a janitor than an army soldier.”

The adviser to the head of the OP added that the salary of the Russian military is the equivalent of the salary of an average-skilled worker on the periphery of the Russian Federation. Therefore, they serve mainly from depressed regions.

The Kremlin rallied around Putin

Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, also said that the Kremlin had rallied around Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The unfortunate end of the war for them means the unfortunate end of the regime. The end of the regime in Russia always ends in the same way – physical death. They are now fighting for survival,” the OPU adviser said.

According to Arestovich, the Kremlin is worried about the “development of the situation within Russia itself.”

“Hence – consolidation. There are people who say they have a strategy for getting out of the situation, and these are peaceful negotiations. This strategy is an attempt to stay close to power and resources. And there is another – let’s fight to the last. And so far she is winning,” – he noted.
