(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 11 – Nearly 5 million Ukrainians have lost their jobs since the beginning of the Russian invasion. This was stated by the International Labor Organization (ILO) underlining – according to international media reports – that “if hostilities were to intensify, the loss of jobs would increase to seven million” “If the fighting were to stop immediately, a rapid recovery, with the return of 3.4 million jobs. This would reduce job losses to 8.9 percent, “adds the United Nations organization.
Of the 4.8 million people who lost their jobs, 1.2 million are refugees who have fled to neighboring countries and 3.6 million are unemployed who have remained in Ukraine. (HANDLE).
