(ANSA) – KIEV, MAY 31 – The Ukrainian court has sentenced two Russian soldiers to 11 and a half years in prison for hitting two villages in the north-eastern region of Kharkiv with multiple missiles. It is Kiev’s second sentence for war crimes since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
Alexander Bobykin and Alexander Ivanov were found guilty of “violating the laws and customs of war” at the end of a trial that began in mid-May in the city of Poltava, according to reports from the Interfax-Ukraine agency, which said the two defendants “fully admitted their guilt and declared themselves repentant”.
