Italian fashion on stage in Madrid with the ‘Robotizzati’ exhibition

(ANSA) – MADRID, 08 JUL – The “fusion between man and machine” highlighted through an experimental game between designer clothing and references to the imaginary of “futurist fashion” and robots: this is the essence of ‘Robotizzati’, an “exhibition-performance” already exhibited in Italy and now landed in Madrid for its first international stage.

The project, presented this morning at the cultural center of the Spanish capital ‘Serrería belga’, highlights “an absolutely creative aspect of Made in Italy”, according to the commissioner of the exhibition, Stefano Dominella. From Armani to Moschino, from Gucci to Gattinoni, as well as “younger” figures in Italian fashion, there are several prestigious brands whose designs are represented in the exhibition, he added. Among the items on display, even some originally worn by Raffaella Carrà.

Dominella says he is fond of the so-called Japanese ‘mecha’, robots of extraordinary dimensions controlled by a pilot inside (such as Mazinger Z, Gundam, the Transformers). And it is from his meeting with Roberto Pesucci, an important Italian collector of ‘mecha’, that the idea of ’Robotized’ was born.

The exhibition, organized by the Italian Embassy in Spain, the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid and the Veranos de la Villa Festival of the Madrid City Council, will be open until August 28, 2022. For Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, the opening of the exhibition represents “a new piece of the very dynamic relationship that Italy and Spain are experiencing in this last period”. “We like everything about ‘Robotizzati'”, said Andrea Levy, councilor for culture of the municipality of Madrid.

“Italy is a guarantee of quality in everything it does, and a country for which we Spaniards feel admiration, I would almost say devotion”, he added. (HANDLE).
