(ANSA) – GENEVA, JULY 14 – The World Health Organization (WHO) has convened the new meeting of the committee of experts on monkeypox for July 21 to decide whether the epidemic constitutes a global health emergency.
“The emergency committee will provide its opinion to the WHO director general to determine whether the event constitutes an international health emergency,” the United Nations health agency said in a statement. “If so, it will propose temporary recommendations on how to prevent and reduce the spread of the disease and manage the global health response.” (HANDLE).
