(ANSAmed) – ROME, JULY 25 – The fire front that threatened dozens of houses on the Greek island of Lesbos has been partially tamed: local media report, specifying that firefighters and fire-fighting vehicles have brought under control the fires near some villages, where residents and tourists have been evacuated. The climatic conditions with temperatures above 40 degrees, however, worry the authorities, with new outbreaks threatening the island.
The situation in the north is more difficult, where hundreds of rescuers with Canadair and helicopters fight for the fifth day against the flames in the forest of the Dadia national park that threaten one of the most important ecosystems in Europe. (ANSAmed).
