Monkeypox cases surpass 41,000 worldwide, WHO says

According to the World Health Organization, most cases are concentrated in the United States.

During this month there was an increase in infections, points out the latest WHO epidemiological report. “There are signs that the outbreak is waning in Europe, where a combination of effective public health measures, behavior change and vaccination is helping to prevent transmission,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. At the BrazilO Ministry of Health confirmed, until the night of Wednesday, 24, 4,144 cases of monkeypox. Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are the states with the highest number of confirmations of the disease, with 2,640 and 508, respectively.
