The leaders of the mafia group “Polverino” from the Neapolitan mafia offered compensation in the amount of 150 thousand euros to the family of Giulio Giaccio. They mistakenly killed him over ten years ago, confusing him with another person.

This is reported by the publication Corriere della Sera. The mafiosi dressed up in police uniforms and tracked down Giaccio, who was mistakenly thought to be the lover of a mafia member’s sister.

In 2000, members of the Polverino clan decided to take revenge on a man accused of being was in an intimate relationship with the sister of one of the members of their clan.

Two mafiosi – Carlo Nappi and Salvatore Cammarota – decided to take up the execution of revenge. They changed into police uniforms and tracked down Giaccio, whom mistakenly considered sister’s lover mafia member.

In 2000, Carlo Nappi and Salvatore Cammarota ordered the 26-year-old Giaccio to come with them for an identity check, using a police uniform for credibility. After that, the man disappeared, and neither the police nor his relatives knew about his fate.

Before the start of the trial in the case on Tuesday, mafiosi offered Giaccio’s mother and brothers compensation for a “false” murder, consisting with 30 thousand euros in cash and 120 thousand euros in real estate.
