Pope Lev XIV condemned Russian invaders against Ukraine. The head of the Catholic Church emphasized that the Russian imperialist invasion.
He also stated that some politicians “do not want to recognize the horrors of this war.” Pope Lev XIV said this in an interview with the Peruvian publication Semanario Expressión.
According to him, Russia wants to seize Ukrainian territory due to its own advantages and strategic location. In addition, the pontiff emphasized that the crimes of the Russian Federation against Ukraine have already been proven.
“From my point of view, this is a real imperialist invasion, where Russia wants to win the territory for reasons and its own advantages in its strategic place, as well as because of the great value that Ukraine has for Russia in cultural, historical and industrial terms.
The pontiff also noted that some politicians refuse to recognize the horrors of the Russian-Curean War and the evil that Russia makes in Ukraine. At the same time, Lev XIV added that today it is more impossible to resort to weapons to solve problems.
“We must all insist on promoting peace, weapons. We must look for other methods, and God forbid, at least at this time, there will be a pause in all this violence, whether passionate weeks, or because many innocent people die, dies from this unfair aggression. ”
