European leaders, in particular, in the coalition of those who want to talk about the deployment of restrained troops in Ukraine. Currently, the situation does not provide for any discussion, with the exception of the cessation of Russian aggression from the negotiations.
This was declared by the German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz. According to Reuters, the statement was heard after a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Italian Prime Minister Dzhozhoze Melony.
We recall that Germany is one of the countries of the coalition of those who want to agree to deploy their troops in Ukraine. Italy is not included in the coalition, although it provides military assistance to Ukraine.
“Now there is no reason to talk about the distribution of troops in Ukraine, we are far from this. We want the weapon to stop, the murder will stop. These are the only problems that we have dedicated to, and others, ”said the Chancellor of Germany.
According to him, “the next step should be a clear definition of the format of peaceful negotiations.”
Earlier, Martz said that negotiations in Istanbul “ended below our expectations.” After a meeting with Melony, he repeated this rating and recalled that the EU is working on a new package of sanctions against Russia.
In turn, Meloni said that Italy was open to join any international format aimed at ending the war.
As reported, OBOZ.UAAlthough Mertz was disappointed with the position of Russia’s aggressor in negotiations in Istanbul, he welcomed the fact of the beginning and called them the “first positive signal”.
Merz also stated that he supports the confiscation of frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine.
It should be noted that in private in the United States, he decided to support the “coalition of these” – a group of state, which are potentially ready to send their peacekeepers to Ukrainian territory as a security guarantee.
They also recalled that the British military who plan to be sent to Ukraine do not turn to the front line. Their tasks are to prepare Ukrainian military, and not in military operations.
